I had a very interesting experience recently during a dream.
In the dream I found myself standing in a humongous room. In front of me were a bunch of very tall staircases, sitting right next to each other, with just a small railing between them.
Intrigued, I walked up to the third staircase from the right and stepped onto the first stair. Immediately, I was plunged into a memory from July, 1971. I was three years old. As I stood on the stair, I saw an entire day unfold as I watched my life on that day.
I took another step up and the day continued into the next day where I witnessed again my entire day. When that day was over, I was back on the stair.
I went down to the bottom and walked left for a few staircases. This time I noticed a small plaque on the staircase bottom that read the year. I found the 1974 staircase and started climbing. If I stayed on the step for more than a few seconds, the day and year associated with that step would unfold and I could see everything that occurred to me on that day.
This was amazing. I was viewing my life. I could pick any year, and any day that year. The whole thing was wondrous!
I started moving around the years and the stairs. I discovered that just by thinking about it, I could step on a stair and watch the day in a fast forward speed. I was blipping around in the early 1970’s and even caught myself watching some episodes of The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, and Little House on the Prairie. Oh that Nellie!
I soon discovered that each staircase had 365 stairs and each represented a day in my life of that year.
I got wise and started really considering what I wanted to relive, what I wanted to see. I jumped to staircase year 2000 to watch my first child’s birth. The sweet (and agonizing) memory of that brought tears to my eyes. I jumped ahead to my second child’s birth and it too was amazing.
When I started thinking about my second child, all of a sudden I was able to see his life on each step of the staircase.
Oh my gosh, I thought, I can tune in to other people’s lives!
I spent time viewing life from the perspective of my children. That was eye-opening and gave me tremendous insight into their lives.
Then I wondered if it only worked for people I personally knew. To test my theory, I started thinking about Princess Diana, and sure enough, with a little bit of effort, I was able to view her life too! I did the same with Bill Clinton, watching him age from boyhood to his later years in seconds.
I wondered how far into the future I could go. Could I see my own future? I raced to 2035 and stepped on a stair. It was at this point that I heard someone behind me say, “Hey, you can’t be here right now.”
I turned to find a male figure standing behind me. He was literally dressed like one of the guys from the movie The Adjustment Bureau, hat and all!
I said, “Don’t I have the right to view my own life? My own past and future?”
He replied, “While you are incarnated you must rely on your memories. But one day, when you release this life, you will be able to spend as much ‘time’ here as you’d like; viewing, reviewing, re-experiencing your life. In addition, you’ll be able to see your past lives and future lives as well.”
I said, “So when I do a past life reading for my clients, I am shown that life like a movie that I can play, rewind, fast forward, and pause. Am I accessing their staircases?”
“Yes,” he replied. “That’s exactly what you’re doing.”
“So why can’t I come here whenever I want and look at my own life?” I queried.
He smiled and said, “You need to LIVE this life, not get stuck on memories or see how things turn out.”
I said, “So if my future is already in these staircases and my future lives are also accessible from these staircases, how do I have free will? These staircases seem to suggest everything that happens has already been determined.”
He said, “Yes and no. While you are living each of your lives you are using your free will to determine its outcome. On this side of the veil you are able to see what choices you will have made. Time is very different here. There is no past, present and future like you experience during physicality. On this side of the veil you can witness everything you’ve done, are doing, and will have done. In each of your physical lives, you are creating your story. It is here that that story is recorded.”
I said, “I’m going to have to trust you on that.”
He smiled and said, “Once you arrive back to the ether, you will be able to look as far back as creation and as far ahead to the physical end of the universe.”
“I want to do that! I want to do that now!!” I squealed with delight.
He said, “I know you do. And you will. Just not now. Now I must get you back, your night is almost over and you’ve been here a long time.”
I said, “I thought you said there was no time here.”
He said, “Here there is no time, true. But you are accessing this from a physical-world dream, and your night has turned into morning. You must go back.”
“I want to see. I want to remember!” I said.
He said, “Live in your present. Make it what you want it to be. You are creating this life you are viewing. Create a life that will give you great memories later.”
With that thought I woke up.
It was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had; very similar to some other dreams I’ve had.
When we think of the Akashic Records, we often imagine sitting in a library reading a book about a certain point in time. I think the staircases are just another representation of that information.
I was profoundly affected by getting to relive, in detail, some key moments in my life. I could have spent a lifetime in there looking at things. And I guess, someday, I will get another chance.
