When I was in my teenage years I started having dreams of getting together with all of my deceased relatives and having a family dinner.
I used to enjoy these ghostly dinners immensely. All of my deceased relatives appeared much younger than how I had remembered them in life. They were in great spirits (ha!) and there was much merriment at the table.
I remember one time I asked, “Is this what you guys do all day on the other side? Just hang out together?”
My Aunt Viola said, “We do this for you. To connect with you.”
“Me?” I asked. “Why me?”
To which she replied, “Because you’re the only one who can see us.”
I felt honored to be in their presence, like I was a guest at their parties. I loved hanging out with my deceased relatives and hearing their stories, but I always wondered what it meant about life on the other side. Do we only hang out with our relatives from our physical incarnations or what?
Fast forward a couple of decades and now I understand after speaking to hundreds of deceased people that when you cross over you reconnect with every soul that you have ever loved.
That means family from this life like your spouse, parents, and kids, but it also means the souls of those you’ve spent time with in other lives. Not everyone you know incarnates at the same time you do.
When you cross over you’re going to reconnect with people you can’t even remember right now, but you knew and loved them at one time or another. When you cross over you will remember them instantly and be glad for the reconnection.
People often ask me if they will have to reconnect with someone they hated, or someone who abused them. There is no obligation for you to connect with someone you don’t love, even if you were married in this life or spent a lot of time with them.
You reconnect with love, not DNA.
But I’ll give you a little spoiler. The people you think you hate in this life aren’t exactly the same when they slough off their mortal coils. The person who was abusive on Earth is not abusive on the other side. They have released that persona.
I know some of you are thinking, “I don’t care if he’s a prince on the other side, he was a total jerk to me in this life and I won’t have anything to do with him on the other side!” That’s fine. You don’t have to. But you’ll see them differently and you’ll slough off some of your persona as well.
The bottom line is this… when you cross over you will spend time with those you love. If that’s mostly family, great. It’s also going to be souls from other lives, and some souls who have never incarnated into human form but whom you know and love from your time in the ether.
But please rest assured you will absolutely see your loved ones again.
