“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” – Marcus Aurelius
You may not remember this, but you were very eager to come to Earth. You wanted to live. You wanted to live HERE. You wanted the opportunity to experience this physicality.
You knew the world was not perfect, and you chose to come anyway.
You knew you would face hardships, and you chose to come anyway.
You knew there would be days that brought you low; days you could barely function. You chose to come anyway.
You knew there would be betrayals, sadness, turmoil, pain. You chose to come anyway.
You chose to come to Earth because you dearly wanted to experience the beauty and thrill of physical incarnation.
You chose to get in the raft and pick up the oar and see where you could row your boat.
You knew there would be rapids. You knew you could be tossed into the water and dashed upon the rocks, but you chose to come anyway.
You also knew there would be great joy, limited only by your imagination. You knew there would be love, different than you’d experienced before, but just as valuable.
You chose to come to Earth. Eagerly.
You may not remember it from where you stand. You may feel like you made a bad choice or got the raw end of some deal. But you didn’t. You came here of your own free will, and you were excited.
Remember that excitement. Remember why you came here. Remember that your course in life is determined by you.
Be grateful for the gift of life. There are many others waiting their turn to come here. Make your life memorable and spectacular!
